NO EXIT a gripping thriller full of heart-stopping twists

I had a few issues with feeling like this read was a little scattered and felt like there was maybe just a little too much going on for such a short book but overall I was impressed and thrilled while reading this. The text read in this audiobook is the original 1937 edition written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by Andrew Carnegie - and while it has often been reproduced, no updated version has ever been able to compete with the original.

Here Darby was, the underachieving secondborn, trapped at a lonely rest stop just below the summit of Backbone Pass, because she'd tried to race Snowmageddon over the Rockies and failed.And yet, thanks to the author’s ability to adeptly blend realistic, gut-churning fear with jaw-dropping twists, the book ends up being a cinematic adrenaline rush instead of a flashy twist-a-palooza with little substance to back it up. Frank Sheck of The Hollywood Reporter found that Damien Power skillfully manages to capture the plot mechanics through his direction, and complimented the performances of the actors, especially Liu's as a lead character. But if I have to compare what I finish to read now with the movie ( or all the other thriller movies I watched on this month) this book definitely beats them up! How can she possibly put the puzzle pieces together under the nose of the kidnapper themselves without giving away her position, her knowledge.

It received mixed reviews from critics, who categorized it as a "reasonably diverting" popcorn movie.I don't want to reveal anymore other than to say that the tension escalates all the way to the final confrontation. Ash takes her weapon and kills the cop, but right as he’s about to finish her off, Darby uses a screwdriver to stab his neck, finally killing him.
