Worst boots I had for grip,were Brasher hillmaster gtx,they look the part,but omg,I found on local slate paths so,so dangerous...my coccyx,certainly took a couple bad slip,one up on the cliffs once...The best "Wellies" I have ever had is Navitas lite insulated boots". A fully removable felt liner which can be replaced. I use them not only for freshwater fishing in the winter but also stood on the beach sea fishing and I have never had cold feet in them yet. In Summer just use them without the liner, they have good tread and they are that lite you don't know you have them on. You can even use the liner on it's own as a bivvy boot but no good to stand in the wet on their own. Thursley National Nature Reserve is located a few miles to the east in Elstead.
